One wise man said: Always keep a smile on your face 🙂 because smile is a free therapy .
We also know: A person is just about as happy as he makes up his mind to be. Happiness is a choice.
Our recommendations to maximize your happiness in life are the following:
- Stop comparing yourself to others. Focus on your own life.
- Understand that everyone is different and is talented in different fields.
- Be critical towards every piece of information you receive.
- Differentiate between dreams and expectations. It’s good to pursue great dreams but also form basic expectations which you think would make your life happy.
- Enjoy the people, the experiences, and the things in your life to the fullest.
- Care about others. Build friendships. Be interested in people. Be interested in everything.
- Look for personal relationships, work, and situations where your own nature and talents are honestly appreciated.
- Avoid attachment to things you cannot change. (Antone Johnson puts it very well.)
- Value what’s really important, and let the little things slide. Have a balanced view of yourself, confident in your own worth, and neither egotistical nor insecure.
- Do things that you inherently enjoy.
- Work on something that matters. Help others. Create. Discover.
- Exercise. Meditate.
An actual concept is, happiness is better thought of as a side-effect of a satisfying life, instead of anything you directly work to achieve.
