How many of you ever heard of Adolf Hitler’s underground tunnels that connected the important buildings of berlin? The one he allegedly used to escape Berlin!?
Legend has it that, the design to build the tunnels was inspired from the Norway rats.
The Norway rat prefers to live in underground tunnels or burrows. They can have many burrows interconnected, forming a network of underground tunnels. These ground burrows usually have one central opening that they use for an entrance or exit, and a couple of holes that are used for escaping.
The above picture is a network built by a group of Norway rats.
Now compare it with the Berlin underground map, and you will have your answer!
On a lighter note, Adolf Hitler used a rat’s idea to escape Berlin.
