The team of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in the leadership of Prof Geeta Rai has succeeded in developing the stripe technique to test coronavirus infection (Covid-19). This will allow an accurate examination of corona infection in just one to four hours.
Prof. Geeta Rai
Prof. Geeta Rai of the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics of the Institute of Science of the Banaras Hindu University, who develop this new strip technique for the testing of coronavirus infection with the help of her team of research students. Prof. Geeta Rai claims that this new stripe technique of coronavirus investigation is completely new. It’s focused on the virus protein assay technique. There’s no chance of misreporting in this.
According to Prof Geeta Rai, this technique is called reverse transcriptase polymer chain reaction (RT-PCR). It targets such protein sequences that are present only in the Kovid-19 virus. It is not in any other viral strain. It was discovered by Geeta Rai and her team members Doli Das, Khushbu Priya, and Hiral Thakkar.
Stripe Technique for Coronavirus testing
Prof. Geeta Rai has approached the Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) and the Indian Council of Medical Research of India (ICMR) for guidance and support in this direction. So that this technique can be moved quickly among the common people.
