Now it is decided: Donald Trump has won against Hillary Clinton. The candidate of the Republicans will be the successor to Barack Obama’s 45th President of the US.
Donald Trump will move into the White House. The candidate of the Republicans won the election against his rival Hillary Clinton by the Democrats. She was a favorite in the election. Clinton has already conceded her defeat in a telephone call with Trump, reports CNN.
After a dramatic election night Trump became the 45th President of the USA. He has unified the necessary 270 of the total of 538 candidates. One of the key factors behind the success was the successes in conquering federal states such as Ohio and Florida.
The 70-year-old Trump succeeds Barack Obama as President and will be sworn in on January 20th.
The choice was about 219 million people. Trump did well, especially with older voters, and he was particularly strong in the largest electoral group of the 50- to 64-year-olds. Clinton scored as expected among the women, but not as clearly as her camp had hoped.
In the USA, the president is elected indirectly by the people, the electors elect electors and women in the individual federal states. Their number depends on the population size of each state. The electors give their vote well a month after the election day, this year on 19 December.
