Flipkart’s festive sale season began on 2nd October and on Monday Flipkart sold goods worth Rs 1,400 crore marking a new high for online sales on a single day. Flipkart attracted its customers by a series of offers in the ongoing festive season sale.
At Flipkart, a lot of pre-event testing took place including “loading, traffic, engineering as well as testing the offers,” according to Smrithi Ravichandran, director of category design.
“This indeed is a historic moment,” said Binny Bansal, chief executive officer of Flipkart.
His company estimates that it registered five times more traffic than usual since the sales began on Sunday. This is a great achievement for Flipkart and the Flipkart team who had worked really hard to make Flipkart what it is today.
