Google doodle celebrates India's tryst with destinyAs India celebrates its 70th year of Independence, Google today devoted a doodle to the historical “Tryst with Destiny” speech of the nation’s 1st Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

India’s first PM Jawaharlal Nehru had delivered the historical speech in Parliament House prior to the Indian Constituent Assembly.

“Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now that time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom,” Nehru had said in the speech.

The doodle has 1947 published at the base of Parliament House to draw the year of India’s Independence.
Previous year on Independence day, Google had shown Gandhi’s Dandi March on its doodle.

Earlier, the Red Fort, several versions of the Indian flag and tricolour, Indian postage stamps and even the national bird, the peacock, have been designed in Google’s Independence Day doodles for India.
