India caused “significant casualties” on terrorists and those who help them while in surgical strikes across the India-Pakistan border late on Wednesday, the Indian Army has said.
Surgical strikes were according to specific intelligence input of terror groups all set to infiltrate into India and carry out terror attacks.

“Despite our persistent appeals to Pakistan to not allow territory under its control to be used for terrorist activities, nothing was done,” the DGMO said.
“India cannot allow terrorists to operate across the LoC (Line of Control) and strike with impunity,” Director General Military Operations Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh told a hurriedly called media briefing here, soon after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security.
“I had spoken to the Pakistan DGMO and we expect the Pakistan Army to cooperate with us to eliminate the threat of terror,” he said,” adding: “The strikes were carried out based on specific and credible information,” he said, adding
There were no Indian casualties during the strikes.
The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
