Guided missile frigate INS Betwa encountered a mishap at the Naval dockyard in Mumbai while it was at the dry dock. Two sailors are missing while 14 have been rescued with minor injuries. Diving operations are in progress.

“The incident occurred at 1350 hrs during undocking evolution wherein it is suspected that the dock-block mechanism has failed,” Navy spokersperson Captain DK Sharma said on Monday.
INS Betwa is a 4000 tonne frigate of the Brahmaputra class developed by Garden Reach Ship Builders of Kolkata and joined service in July 2004.
