Jammu and Kashmir moving towards Presidential rule ?

After the demise of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, who had made the PDP and BJP government’s alliance possible in Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti took 3 months to take charge of Jammu Kashmir. Then there was concern that Mehbooba Mufti did not know whether the BJP would grow ahead in Jammu Kashmir or not according to their expectations. But Mehbooba Mufti is yet to realize that much of the country’s politics is more important than Kashmir for BJP. In spite of being a power partner in the state, the central government wanted Mehbooba Mufti, neither did she soften the alignment of the algae organizations nor showed softness towards Pakistan.

Jammu and Kashmir moving towards Presidential rule ?

After becoming the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, she has fought such situation in Kashmir which has brought Mehbooba Mufti’s politics and popularity to the forefront. This can be seen in the Lok Sabha by-elections held in Kashmir, where one was the lowest voting, and the PDP’s figures showed a decline. At the same time, the Anantnag Lok Sabha by-election was to be avoided. Now the PDP has written to the Election Commission to prevent the Anantnag Lok Sabha by-election again.

PDP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir are concerned in the statements of BJP leaders where they have been giving statements against Kashmir. This is the reason why Mehbooba Mufti’s brother who came to politics for the first time and PDP candidate from Anantnag Lok Sabha Tasaduk Mufti said in a chat with a newspaper a few days ago that the central government is not serious about Kashmir.

After the unrest in Jammu and Kashmir for many months in 2016, Mehbooba Mufti hoped that the situation in Kashmir was improved in 2017 but this could not be done and now the students of schools and colleges have started gathering along with stonebazes in protests. . In the last one week, the colleges have been closed in Kashmir and like in the past year, tourism has remained dull this year too.

Discussion on Kashmir in Delhi

On Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mahbuba Mufti met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Mehbooba Mufti will focus only on two things in talks. The central government should go ahead with the process of dialogue with a separatists and Pakistan and the security forces in Kashmir should be urged to exercise restraint to deal with protesters. Mehbooba Mufti believes that the killing of common people in the valley and injuries to people is increasing due to which violence is making worse in the valley. For this reason, attempts at peace in the state are facing a major setback.

The BJP and the central government are also aware that if they runs Kashmir, according to Mehbooba Mufti, then she will have to bear the burden of her in other states of the country. Perhaps this is the reason that now the Central Government, once again in Jammu and Kashmir, wants to take the confidence of presidential rule and bring the situation back on track, which has been done earlier in Jammu and Kashmir and proved to be successful to some extent.
