The separatist leaders in Kashmir who are responsible for people rebelling on streets, cities closing down and stone showers, their children and relatives are stationed abroad where they live in peace and with all the facilities and comforts of life. Some have their families in Malaysia, Canada, Britain, and the USA. Some have theirs in Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai where they are either studying or have well-paid jobs.
Such question was raised by Junaid Qureshi son of Hashim Qureshi a pro-independence Kashmiri separatist and one of the founding members of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. He had asked that why these separatists provoke other’s children to pick up guns. If picking up guns was so necessary then why not give guns in the hands of their own children?
These separatist leaders’ children leave Kashmir at a very young age and they are never seen participating in any pageantry, be it the riots of 2008 or 2010 or the latest events that are happening in Kashmir. Their children are away every time there is a riot. These separatist leaders value their own children and family and not the children and families of others.
