Smita Patil award honours actors for their contribution in films, it was initiated by an NGO named ‘Priyadarshni Academy’. Katrina Kaif has been one of the most successful actresses of Bollywood , she had worked with some of the biggest stars of the industry and had delivered some of the biggest commercial hits.
Katrina Kaif is being honoured with Smita Patil memorial award for her contribution to Indian Cinema. “This award goes to her as a recognition to an outstanding individual who has shown excellence in her field,”said Nanik Rupani, The Founder Chairman of the academy. Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan have also been honoured with this award in the past. But this year it is Katrina Kaif and the social media does not seem pleased with the decision.
