After the Pulwama attack, India has decided to stop the water of its share of three rivers going towards Pakistan. The Indus Water Treaty was signed between India and Pakistan on September 19, 1960. Under this, Pakistan has the right to use water of Jhelum, Chenab and Indus rivers anv India has the right to use water of has the right to use water of Ravi, Beas and Sutlej. Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that the dam will stop the water of three rivers. This water will be diverted in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
After the Pulwama attack, This is the third major decision against Pakistan. Earlier, the government had seized the status of Most Favored Nation (MFN) from Pakistan. Then the duty on goods coming from there increased to 200%.
