Amravati: Students were vowed not to do love marriage on Valentine’s Day at a college in Maharashtra. All Mahila Arts and Commerce College students have all been sworn that they “don’t love anyone, or love anybody, or that they love life.” In the oath, the students said’ I promise my entire family that I don’t love anyone nor like marriage.’ Also in the oath, I won’t marry a dowry seeker.
The woman, Ritika Rangari, said,’ It should be good and autonomous for us whatever we love. With love, consulting the family is always sweet. At the same time, another Bhavna student said, ‘ I think what is the need to do marriage in love? Our families are enough to make a decision on these matters, and they’ll do as well.
Maharashtra’s Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur said, “The oath taken by the girl students is not binding on anyone.” The college has administered an oath to the girl students to alert them to matters like Wardha.
A 24-year old lecturer in Wardha was set on fire by a man who had been stalking for the last two years, who died on Monday during treatment. The lecturer was burned at 40%, who was undergoing treatment at Nagpur Hospital, where she succumbed.
