In a press conference at Meerut’s Bravura Hotel Nawazuddin Siddiqui said: “Right now, the situation between India and Pakistan is very sensitive and they (Pakistani actors) should leave India”. This was is the response when he was asked about his role in Salman Khans movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and would he support Salman bridging the gap between two nations like he did in the movie.
The Bollywood film industry stands divided on their views when it comes to allowing Pakistani actors to remain in India. Salman Khan, who acted along with Siddiqui in Bajrangi Bhaijan had recently said that they (Pakistani film stars working in India) were “artists and not terrorists”, evoking sharp reactions from various quarters.
On being asked on which side he was, he said “It is not about with which group of actors I belong to. It is a matter of our country. Aur desh se badhkar kuch nahi hai. (There is nothing superior to our country).” this was really well said
