Considering how worried the average Indian citizen is about this life-threatening virus, the COVID-19, the need for the hour was a complete lock-down. The general public appears to underestimate the danger that this virus will cause havoc.
We are only in Phase 2 of the transmission that can be tested and coped with, but once we reach the Public Transmission that is the pandemic’s Phase 3, it will be difficult to avoid the spread of the disease after a 3–6-month imposed lock-in.
Our Prime Minister knows very well that India is not equipped as well as capable of tackling the pandemic’s community transmission process as we do not have adequate medical facilities to cater to the country’s vast population. He recognized the gravity of the situation and took a measure that no one dared to take.
Mr. Modi knows this lock-downs financial and economic expense, but his words, “Jaan hai toh jahaan hai” are what we should all recall. Life is important to this planet than anything. You can earn the money again but you won’t get back to life again.
Even though I am a businessman, realizing that this action would hamper the businesses in the country, I fully endorse this lock-down and I am pleased that we have a leader who is not clueless and has the guts to take such courageous measures for the benefit of the people and intends to tackle this is a pandemic with full force.
