Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for a three-day visit to Israel and Germany. Narendra Modi is the first Indian prime minister to go to Israel.
This visit of PM Modi is important for many reasons. Modi had called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu his friend, one day before his visit and had said that he is quite optimistic about the trip.
During the visit of PM Modi to Israel, there is a possibility of talks between the two countries on military, agriculture, water and space technology issues.

1 First Indian Prime Minister-
Narendra Modi is the first Indian prime minister to go to Israel. In 1948, Israel was formed and in 1949, the United Nations recognized it.
After this, in 1950, India also recognized Israel as an independent country. But till now no Prime Minister visited him.
2 Effects in global politics –
After the PM’s US visit, the Israeli newspaper The Marker described Modi as the world’s most important prime minister. Clearly, Israel considers Modi as a global leader.
India can prove to be helpful for Israel in the growing confrontation between Israel and Palestine.
3 Agreements in Agriculture
Our country is considered as an agricultural land. Israel is far ahead in agricultural technology. If there is agreement with Israel on IA issue then it will prove to be very beneficial for India.
4 Defense Cooperation-
Israel is one of the world’s leading countries in defense. India has purchased about 41 percent of weapons from Israel from 2012 to 2016.
After the US and Russia in the world, Israel is the third country from which India buys arms. Israel also helped India in the war between the 1962 and 1965 China war and Pakistan in 1971.
5 Water Management Settlement-
Water management has become a major problem for India. Israel has a very developed technique of water management, so it can prove to be very helpful for India in this field.
Our Union Cabinet has signed a MoU on “National Campaign for Water Conservation in India” with Israel on June 28, 2017.
