People are searching for Pokemon Go more than porn on Google
If perhaps you were online at any time during the past week, you might have come to know that Pokémon Go is in the middle of a full-fledged internet takeover. It is the top rated app in the iOS App Store, and just yesterday, it was unveiled that people today are using Pokémon Go over they are social media apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.
But it turns out that it was more loved than anyone realized, as by specific metrics, Pokémon Go is far more preferred than among the list of main pillars of the internet: porn.
That’s right, just as when the UK voted to leave the European Union mere weeks ago, the augmented reality game has recently also defeated Google search terms for ‘porn’.
Pokemon Go was initially released in the U.S. and other areas on July 6. Since about 6:30 p.m. EST on July 10, people have been Googling the game with a higher rate than they have more flesh-bearing topics. We believed that being able to catch Pokemon in the real-world will be a striking success, but we had no chance of being aware of that it would be this big, enough to overtake our sex drives for internet supremacy.
