As per the newly declassified British government documents a senior figure of the separatist Khalistan movement based in the UK had “predicted” the killing of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi months before her assassination.
Jagjit Singh Chauhan, explained by UK authorities as a “self-styled leader of the Sikh Republic of Khalistan” was amongst a number of suspicious people on which the then Margaret Thatcher led government looking for “serious action”.
It moves on to warn that Chauhan’s presence in UK could hurt bilateral relationships in between India and the UK.
