Usually a jail is a place filled with bitterness and discontent, it is also a place where people improve and amend themselves. This prison of Telangana has its own way of changing its prisoners. Here the inmates are given an opportunity to improve themselves and others around them.
In this new scheme launched by the Government more than 17000 prisoners are being educated in the jail. The ‘Vidyadanam Scheme’ is all about motivating educated prisoners to help their fellow illitrate prisoners in learning.
“The programme has drastically helped lower prison death and has made them more motivated”, said The Director General of prisons and correctional services, VK Singh.
