A roadmap has been prepared by the center that may help people locate toilets in cities across the country. You just need Google Maps on your smartphones and locating Toilets would be as easy as locating any restaurant or the nearest ATM.
this facility will be available by November end in the National Capital Region (NCR) where around 5,100 toilets have been mapped. Sources said the Union urban development ministry will launch this facility in the second half of November when the next Swachhta Pakhwada (cleanliness and sanitation fortnight). The toilets, located by Google Maps would be those with unrestricted access and include those at public convenience complexes, malls, shopping complexes and petrol pumps.”We are working on improving sanitary conditions of all such toilets, including providing users the rank option to toilets,” said a government official. TOI has learned that a mobile app will soon be launched to enable people to rank toilets on cleanliness parameters.
This is a great step towards cleanliness and hygiene, but what about the people without smartphones which I believe most Indians don’t. Then I guess they still have to go looking for bushes and drains. This is what I think your’s might differ.
