According to information received the Supreme Court will hear a Petition to ban the WhatsApp on June 29, 2016. As per the Media reports that the PIL’s is filed due to the new end-to-end encryption feature of WhatsApp.
RTI activist Sudhir Yadav’s petition that WhatsApp was implemented Chat Encryption on from April due to these encryption is it now almost impossible for cyber security agencies to decrypt these messages. The petition also states that even for WhatsApp its is not possible to decrypt messages between two users.
Due to the encryption it would be easier for terrorists and criminals to send a message and it would threaten the country’s security. So there should be a ban on WhatsApp. WhatsApp plus many other applications have been referred to in the petition.
