Amancio Ortega , the Spanish founder of fashion chain Zara is now the richest man in the world with a total of $79.5 billion to his personal fortune. On the other hand Bill Gates has a net worth of $78.5 billion.
Ortega pushing Bill Gates on the second position became the world’s richest man on Wednesday when shares in Zara’s parent company, Inditex went up by 2.5%.
Ortega was on top of the table before also, but for a short period till a rise in Microsoft’s shares put him back on second position.
